Traffic Management

Career Description

From paper clips to helicopters, the Air Force has millions of dollars worth of equipment and supplies shipping around the world at any given moment. The challenge of keeping track of it all and ensuring it gets to the right place at the right time falls to the Airmen in Traffic Management. At the end of the day, your mission will be to make sure Airmen around the world get what they need for their mission.

Career Tasks

  • Ensure that shipments are ready for transport; inspecting freight for damage; keeping accurate records; and operating forklifts, pallet trucks, and hand trucks
  • Prepare transportation requests and authorizations and loading and unloading shipments
  • Arrange for quality-control visits to personal property pickup sites, as well as quality checks of airline routings and fare computations

Training

After eight-and-a-half weeks of Basic Military Training, every Airman goes to technical training to learn their career. Here's the basic information about Traffic Management technical training:
